The Assistance League chapter serving OC-Costa Mesa-Newport Beach is gearing up for an exciting event - Denims and Diamonds Casino Night OC. An invitation is extended to everyone to partake in a night of fun and philanthropy.
Scheduled for March 2nd at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club, the Denims and Diamonds Casino Night promises an evening filled with entertainment and excitement. From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests will indulge in cocktails, delectable hors d'oeuvres, and the chance to participate in both live and silent auctions.
The event will feature a variety of classic casino games including Blackjack, Roulette, and Craps, providing ample opportunities for guests to try their luck. Adding to the ambiance will be the presence of Elvis, who will undoubtedly bring some extra flair to the night.
In addition to the thrill of the games, attendees will have the chance to win fantastic prizes through various opportunity drawings. Each ticket purchase includes one premium drink, $150 in play money, and an opportunity drawing ticket, all for $175 per person.
What makes this event even more special is that it supports a worthy cause. The Assistance League is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to giving back to the community. Proceeds from the Denims and Diamonds Casino Night, along with all other fundraising efforts, go directly towards supporting local initiatives such as the Thrift Shop, The Consignment Store, dental services, college grants, and contributions to local schools.

Marc-André Hamelin plays Beethoven, Schumann & Ravel at Soka

Experience the piano mastery of Marc-André Hamelin, hailed by The New York Times for his "near-superhuman technical prowess” at Soka Performing Arts Center. This event is scheduled for Sunday, February 25, at 3 p.m., held at the Concert Hall. Ticket prices are set at $45 - $85 for regular admission and $40.50 - $76.50 for seniors aged 62 and above, students, and military personnel, with the added benefit of free parking.
As the exclusive recording artist for Hyperion Records, Hamelin's extensive repertoire includes over 70 albums, highlighting his virtuosity across solo, orchestral, and chamber music. His performances, ranging from Carnegie Hall to global festival stages, captivate audiences with a mix of beloved classics and unique compositions. This is a rare opportunity to see Hamelin perform pieces by Beethoven, Schumann, and Ravel as part of the Great Pianist Series, the sole solo piano series on the West Coast, offering an afternoon filled with unmatched artistry.
